LIESIMUSTA® Stove Black for Steel and Cast Iron Surfaces

LIESIMUSTA®, also known as Spis-Svart®, is a traditional and safe stove black for cleaning, refreshing and maintaining steel and cast iron surfaces. It is ideal for wood-burning stove tops, cast iron stoves, fireplace and oven doors, soot doors and other steel or cast iron parts of fireplaces and stoves.

LIESIMUSTA® helps remove dirt and rust while restoring the metal surface to an even, dark appearance. It is not a paint or lacquer, but a care product containing natural ingredients. Therefore, it does not form a sealed coating under which rust could continue to develop. The product does not contain self-igniting varnish or linseed oil.

Instructions for use
If the metal surface has heavy or deeply embedded rust, remove it mechanically before treatment using a steel brush or a drill fitted with a wire brush attachment. Afterwards, remove all dust with a brush or vacuum cleaner.

Shake LIESIMUSTA® thoroughly before use and stir if necessary. Apply a small amount to a lint-free cloth and rub it firmly onto the metal surface in as thin a layer as possible. Work on a small area at a time until the entire surface has been treated.

For textured cast iron surfaces, such as fireplace doors, a natural-bristle brush can also be used to work the stove black into grooves and patterns.

LIESIMUSTA® can be applied to either a cold or slightly warm surface. A gently heated metal surface is recommended, as warmth helps the product adhere more effectively.

Cleaning greasy stove tops
If a wood-burning stove top has previously been treated with animal fat and has become patchy, clean it before applying LIESIMUSTA®. Mix equal parts warm water and liquid pine soap and scrub the surface with a brush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and gently heat the stove until the surface is completely dry.

After cleaning, treat the dry metal surface immediately with LIESIMUSTA® stove black.

Wear protective gloves and safety glasses during use.

LIESIMUSTA® stains can be removed, for example from floors, with a cloth dampened with soapy water.
